Assists in directing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs and initiatives in both the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Computer Science. Evaluates established processes and conducts training to maximize efficiency. Participates in planning, administering and monitoring program related to operational budgets and administrative policies/procedures. Ensures required records and documentation are maintained for faculty promotion and tenure. Manages and supervises the administrative staff. Assimilates financial and statistical data for external reporting, operational reporting and faculty financial monthly reports. Monitors, audits and reconciles operational, non-sponsored and sponsored accounts. Reviews and approves purchasing requests, expense reports and EPEX proposal submissions on behalf of the departments. Prepares and approves journal entries. Submits requests for RSTs, XDP, earning distribution changes, course buy-outs, academic year salary recovery, summer salary for department faculty.

Processes payments for invoices, vendor set-up, faculty/staff/guest reimbursements, honorariums, corporate cards reconciliations, deposits, recording direct bills, creating ad hoc reports, manages petty cash and submits travel exception requests. Subject expert on travel/expense policy changes and communicates pertinent information with the department. Acts as the department liaison to follow up with the appropriate points of contact to resolve issues related to any of the items listed above.

Provides general administrative support to the Administrative Office Staff and Faculty. Provides direct administrative support to the Undergraduate Coordinator, Assistant Program Director and the Department Chairs. Updates information on the department website including seminar announcements, and department news. Schedules and handles logistics for meetings and events, including invites, catering, room reservations, and office assignments. Assists in visitor accommodations, books reservations at Emory affiliated hotels, aids with travel and campus access. Prepares offices for new faculty, visitors or staff, including setting up phone/voice mail, keys, and general orientation to the department. Assists in collecting documentation (annual CV collection, Faculty Teaching Observation Letters, etc.), monitors deadlines, creates info packets and provides procedural guidance. Creates and posts recruitment advertisements, event invitations, flyers and other department documentation. Places maintenance requests, troubleshoots copier issues, manages office supplies and inventory, performs routine data entry. Processes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
