Putnam Practice

Meeting: 4pm-5pm Friday October 30, Room MSC E306

This is our ninth meeting. Our topic is linear algebra, in particular rank-based arguments. I again prepared a document with three sections:

• Section 1: a study guide
• Section 2: five Putnam problems
• Section 3: the solutions

I will have the full version at the meeting. The short version ends after the third problem (so it has no solutions); I'll distribute it early by email. If you have time, please look at the short version before the meeting.

In case we need it, addendum.pdf has two more problems.
